Practical AI for Western Canada Businesses
For owner-led businesses with 5 to 100 people.
Pick the task that eats the most hours in your week. I measure what it costs today, fix it with the tools you already pay for, and keep it working.
I build AI systems for construction and industrial companies, where a wrong number costs real money. Every workflow has a named owner, a written test it must pass, and a person checking anything that touches money, customers, or safety. The same standard works for an office of eight.
Stages and prices
- 1. Fit call
- Free · 30 minutesA short form, a call, and a one-page note on where AI would save you the most time.
- 2. AI Workflow Audit
- CAD $3,500 · Two weeksMeasure three workflows. Set up one quick win. Get a ranked 90-day plan.
- 3. Workflow Build
- Quoted after the audit · Three to four weeksBuild one workflow. It goes live only after it passes its test.
- 4. Managed AI
- Monthly · Quoted after the buildKeep it working, improve it each month, and see what it saved.
Each stage ends with a decision. You can stop after any of them.
Good places to start
The best first workflow repeats every week, takes real hours, and already has someone who owns it. For example:
- following up on quotes that never got an answer;
- entering bills and receipts into QuickBooks;
- answering the same customer questions by email;
- building the month-end report from three spreadsheets;
- turning job notes and timesheets into job-cost summaries;
- preparing new-hire and new-customer paperwork.
Do not start with "use AI everywhere" or a chatbot for its own sake. Start with one task, one owner, and one result you can measure.
Who this is for
It is a fit when all of these are true:
- The owner, or someone they trust, can change how the work is done.
- The task happens at least weekly.
- It costs at least 3 hours a week, or about CAD $10,000 a year in time, rework, or lost jobs.
- The information already lives in tools you use, such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, QuickBooks, or a job-management or CRM system.
- A person keeps checking decisions about money, customers, safety, and contracts.
It is not a fit for IT support, 24/7 help desks, or replacing judgment that a person should keep.
Fit call
Free. 30 minutes.
You fill in a short form with your three biggest time sinks. Before the call I send a one-page note on which one looks most worth fixing and roughly what it costs you now. If AI is the wrong answer, I will say so.
AI Workflow Audit
CAD $3,500. Two weeks.
- three 45-minute interviews: you and two people who do the work;
- a list of your tools and where your data lives;
- three workflows mapped, with measured time and error cost;
- a ranked list of improvements, each with expected hours saved and its cost;
- one quick win set up in your existing tools;
- a 90-day plan.
If you go ahead with a build within 30 days, half of the audit fee is credited to it.
Workflow Build
Fixed price per workflow, quoted in the audit. Three to four weeks.
I build one workflow in the tools you already have. Before go-live it must pass a written acceptance test on your real past work, such as "18 of 20 quotes followed up correctly, with no wrong prices sent." Your team gets a short guide and a walkthrough.
If the test fails, we revise or stop. It does not go live because a demo looked good.
Managed AI
Fixed monthly fee, quoted after the build. Three-month minimum.
- monitoring and fixes for the workflows I built;
- the acceptance test re-run every month;
- one improvement each month (two with Lead);
- a 45-minute monthly review;
- a one-page value report: hours saved, errors caught, what didn't work;
- replies within two business days.
Lead adds staff adoption support, help choosing AI tools, and a quarterly plan.
Software licences are paid by you at cost. New workflows, general IT support, and after-hours support are quoted separately.
How you will know it works
You see the numbers, not a story. The audit measures today's cost. The acceptance test decides whether a build goes live. The monthly report shows the hours saved and how they were calculated, and says "unknown" where the data cannot prove a result yet.
Your data and accounts
You own your data and your software accounts. I start with read-only access, ask only for the access a workflow needs, and you approve every change. Nothing is sent to your customers without the check you agreed to.
Common questions
Do I need new software?
Usually not. Most workflows run on what you already pay for. If something new is needed, you see the cost in the audit before you decide.
Will this replace my staff?
It removes repetitive work so your people spend their time on customers and judgment. The audit shows exactly which hours change.
What if it does not work?
The audit tells you before you spend more. A build that fails its test does not go live. Managed AI has a three-month minimum, then continues month to month.
Do you work outside Edmonton?
Yes. I meet in person around Edmonton and work by video across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia.
We are a larger company.
For larger construction and industrial teams, see applied-AI systems or market intelligence.
